The former area of Metalplex is located in the old town centre of Benevento, a strategic place from an historical and cultural point of view and an important trading centre.  
Therefore, the City Council decided to organize an international competition for the rehabilitation of the area. Six worldwide well-known designers took part to it and dealt with the following topics: the land, the environment, the town, the human being and his socio-political dimension, the relationship with one’s own “memory”, both individual and collective.
